DON’T FORGET TO SCREAM! by David matthew friedman
Freshly minted college graduate, Wave Wattson, decides that it’s finally time to grow up and make more responsible decisions in his life. Against the advice of his elders, he chooses to move back to his parent’s home and commute to New York City's Penn Station on the Long Island Railroad. This will allow him to save up a small nest egg before moving into the city. While he revels in the peace and quiet of the train at first, the commute quickly consumes him.
“Your friend who called it a 'modern American classic' might not have been exaggerating. I mean, that's a big call, but, yeah... this is quite an achievement. This is a really remarkable piece of work. But, keep in mind, it's also unusual.”
— Chris H. Goodfellow, award-winning writer
It's very, very good. A really interesting descent into darkness, punctuated by stark images and moments of painful lucidity. The whole thing has a very ethnographic quality, and I say this as an Anthropology professor.
— Aristotle Evangelos, Anthropology Professor
“Honestly, I was expecting this to suck but I read the whole thing in one sitting.”
